Why not have a go at watercolour and immerse yourself in your plants?
You're already looking closely at leaves to assess their health, checking for pests and disease and gauging if it's time to water. Use this time to also study the form and colours of your plants in preparation to paint.
Author: Nikki Strange
Blurb: Follow print-lover, illustrator and blogger Nikki Strange as she shows you how to recreate the lovely glossy leaves of your favourite cheeseplant or the grey-blue hues of a potted eucalyptus. Other subjects include voguish succulents, frothy ferns and monstrously large monsteras.
A sketchpad with outlines of each project is included with this book - meaning you can get started on making fabulous plant art straight away.
Review: This was one of my first Watercolour books and is still a favourite. Easy to follow instructions and the templates make it easy for those who don't feel they have the artistic skills to sketch a plant to paint.
Tip: Use tracing paper and keep the sketchpad clean to be used again.
