Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA) is a lightweight substrate most commonly used in place of soil. We often use LECA for propagating as it supports plant cuttings well in our large propagation trays.

Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA) is essentially clay that has been baked to extreme temperatures.
It retains water and so allows the plant to take just the right amount of water required.
It provides for more oxygen around the roots and proper drainage so reduces the risk of over or underwatering your plant.
LECA also eliminates the common concern of plant pests that thrive in soil such as Fungus Gnats.
It is low maintenance, making it a great beginner substrate.
