These guides follow on from our Sun & Orientation Plant Tip. After reading all about the Sun and it's movement, get out into your yard or where your plants are and use our Sun Trackers to find out which direction will give your plants the most light.
Use these printable guides to work out the Sun's effect on your home and plants.
Choose the Sun Tracker with the closest month. For example, in November the Sun is between Equinox (late September) and Summer Solstice (late December) so you could use either or look at both and track the Sun's movement from one position to the other. Print or display on your phone screen in locked position.
Hold the Sun Tracker horizontally and point the compass to North. If you are not sure the orientation of your space, use your phone or a compass to get a bearing first.
Note where the Sun is tracking throughout the day and considering your plant's needs, place your plant in the most appropriate spot with maximum light and radiance.
